Generate Biomedicines used Anthropic's Claude AI to help redesign receptors on immune cells which kept killing cancer cells longer than usual in lab tests. Engineered immune cells kept killing cancer cells longer in lab tests after biotechnology company Generate Biomedicines used Claude AI to help redesign their receptors. The result, detailed in Anthropic’s October 27 drug-development update, could help researchers fit more functions into future cell therapies. The update covers six partner organizations and Anthropic’s own muscular-dystrophy program, bringing together experimental results and work on manufacturing and clinical planning. Anthropic’s earlier Claude for Life Sciences launch in October 2025 connected the assistant to scientific literature and laboratory data. CAR T-cell therapies equip immune T cells with engineered receptors that recognize a target and tell the cell to attack.
