Claude Duet keeps working when your laptop is off, but uses your plan's limits

Claude can now come to you with a morning briefing and keep working after you close your laptop. Anthropic's new Claude Duet app is in research preview for US Pro and Max subscribers, with access offered through a waitlist. The October 21 announcement describes an assistant that checks connected apps every few hours, flags items needing attention, and takes on work through one ongoing text or voice conversation. It uses Claude Opus 5.5 and carries over your existing memory, skills and connected apps. Duet runs on its own cloud computer with a browser, so your phone or laptop does not need to stay on. Anthropic lists tasks ranging from drafting invoice reminders to preparing presentations, dashboards and payroll for review.
