Claude will answer ‘Where do I vote?’ and deliver election results as Anthropic prepares for midterms

Anthropic is adding official US voting information and election results to its Claude AI chatbot ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections. The company said the move is aimed at helping Americans find reliable information about voting while preventing people from using AI to spread misinformation or interfere with elections. Later this month, US users will be able to ask Claude where to vote, what identification they need at polling stations and other questions about voting arrangements. The chatbot will draw its answers from Democracy Works, a nonprofit organisation that collects information from official state and local election sources. Claude will also provide the latest official vote counts on election night and in the days after the polls close.
