Some Accenture workers had been burning through $500 to $1,000 a month on Claude. Starting October 1, the company will only pick up the first $29 of that, and anyone who wants more has to go find a project budget willing to cover it. Joseph Cox at 404 Media got hold of the internal memo, titled "Claude Enterprise Users: Important Updates to Licensing and Usage Costs," and it lands as a sharp reversal from the mood just ten months ago. In December 2025, Accenture and Anthropic announced a multi-year partnership to train roughly 30,000 Accenture staff on Claude and roll Claude Code out to tens of thousands of developers, Anthropic's largest Claude Code deployment to date.
