China’s exports and imports spiked in September. Meanwhile, Anthropic has warned that malicious AI software may soon be able to spread via phones, laptops, cars and household devices. China’s exports soared by over 36% in September, according to official data released on Wednesday. That would put the country on course for a record annual trade surplus, which is likely to increase calls for a trade rebalance from major partners like the European Union and the United States. China’s customs office said exports rose 36.3% over 2025, a figure well over the 25.7% rise predicted by a Bloomberg survey of analysts.
