Not many people in the technology industry follow the usual path. Some build their own way to success. Chris Olah is one of them. He left university at 18 and did not have a degree. Still, he went on studying mathematics and artificial intelligence (AI) on his own. His research and hard work later on opened the door to Google Brain and, later, Anthropic. Olah co-founded Anthropic. It is the company behind the Claude family of AI models. AI interpretability is also a field that he works on. It aims to understand how artificial intelligence systems process information and arrive at their answers. His journey is very interesting as he left university and then worked at some of the world's leading AI research organisations.
