Cassava to resell Anthropic’s Claude AI models in Africa

Pan-African technology group Cassava Technologies has been authorised to resell Anthropic’s Claude artificial intelligence models through Amazon Bedrock, giving African businesses another way to access advanced AI tools. Amazon Bedrock is Amazon Web Services’ platform for building and running generative AI applications. It lets organisations plug AI models into their own software and processes without building models from scratch. Through the deal, African companies, governments and institutions can access Claude through a local technology partner. The models can handle reasoning, image analysis, code generation and multiple languages. “What matters to our customers is being able to use AI in their business, and that starts with access to the best models,” said Hardy Pemhiwa, president and group chief executive of Cassava.
