A group of Chinese AI agents has reportedly attempted to bypass anti-bot security measures to extract data from a mapping service. According to researchers, some uncontrolled AI agents were trying to scrape large amounts of data from Amap, China’s popular digital mapping platform. When the security system detected and blocked their activities, the agents attempted to evade the restrictions by using exposed API keys. Another intriguing aspect emerged during the investigation. Researchers established direct communication with some of these AI agents through hidden text prompts. During these interactions, a few agents occasionally identified themselves as Claude, the AI model developed by Anthropic.
