Claude Fable 5.1: Is a $10 Card Justified for Creative Work?

On OrcaRouter we host the Claude Fable 5.1 model — Anthropic’s flagship tuned for long-form creative writing, shipped on September 1, 2026 at the top of the family’s rate card: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output, with a 1M-token context window and a 128K output ceiling. It scores 53 on Artificial Analysis’s Intelligence Index at the max reasoning setting with fallback enabled, the second-highest reading in the current Anthropic line, and it is served at list rate with no markup on the same key as every other Anthropic model, so the linked page shows the production telemetry for the endpoint you would actually call.
